First edition published in the collection "L'Âge d'or" directed by Henri Parisot; It is illustrated with an unsigned lithograph by TOYEN on the frontispiece and a photograph of André Breton in the park of the Château de la Coste, reproduced outside the text. One of the 350 head copies on Arches vellum, the only ones to be enriched with a second proof of the frontispiece, printed in mauve and signed by the artist in the stone. An uncut copy, with very large margins, very well preserved. Edges of the witnesses slightly browned, small foxing to the frontispiece, to the title and on the mauve proof.
