A set of two dummy tools, a wooden carved dummy hammer and axe, and a ceremonial or ceremonial axe are included. Like the colonial wooden helmets, the dummy hammers or other tools were formerly known as "chiefs' hammers" and may have served as an emblem of authority, but it would seem that they were actually used in masquerades, ritual outlets, where the white man, and thus colonial power, was mimicked and mocked. Baule and Dan, Ivory Coast Wood, brass, very beautiful patina of use.
