Light infantry officer's saber model 1855, horn handle with filigree. Gilded and chased brass mounting. Guard with a branch, with shell with days, quillon curved towards the point. Blade stamped, arched, flat back, engraved "A. Chassepot Entrepreur à Chatellerault", with counter-edge, gutters and hollow sides. Iron scabbard with two bracelets and iron stinger. With an officer's belt, made of leather and silver trimmings, with three dark blue stripes, with chased buckle and black strap with gold tassel. Length of the blade: 77 cm .
