RARE RURAL GUARD LIEUTENANT SET INCLUDING :- Grenadier officer's shako of the National Guard. Cardboard barrel covered with taupe felt. Cap and visor varnished. Braid in silver trimmings, with lizard and velvet bourdalou. Bossette with pomegranate, chinstraps with scales lined with velvet. Plaque with rooster and grenade in gilded brass, reported on silver bottom. Tricolor metal cockade. Scarlet woolen pompom, enhanced with a scarlet mane. Inside cap with wolf teeth. - Tunic in fine blue cloth, collar and facings in scarlet cloth, collar motifs and facings in white cloth. Plastron piped scarlet (small missing) closing by fourteen silver buttons to the horn marked "freedom public order". Tunic bordered in the lower part of a frieze with wolf teeth of scarlet cloth and white fabric enhanced with a scarlet soutache. - Pair of epaulets against epaulets officer of the National Guard, silver trimmings, lined with blue cloth. - Embroidered tricolor belt, two-sided. Buckle with two barbs in gilded bronze, chased and openwork decorated with rooster, flowers, oak leaves and the motto "freedom public order". - Black leather gibernator, bleached buffalo shoulder strap. - Shoulder strap with lighter blade in buffalo. A watercolor engraving presenting the uniform of the National Rural Guards and the list of their equipment is attached. B.E. July Monarchy period (1830-1848). Sold without the mannequin.
