"Please give to a good photographer (the house that sells the plates will perhaps indicate one) the six boxes of twelve plates each. The plates are printed, so it is a matter of revealing them and then printing proofs. Reveal the seventy-two plates. Point out that these are snapshots. Then print three proofs of each plate. I enclose a print made in Paris, so that similar prints can be made. They are glazed, by means of American plates. Send me back the plates by packing them again in the boxes. And send me the proofs, three times seventy-two, that is to say two hundred and sixteen, unless the plates are too bad. I know that one of the plates has seen the light.
