*ERNST (Max) - ELUARD (Paul).
Les Malheurs des immortels.
Paris : Éditions de la Revue Fontaine, [1945]. - In-8, paperback, filled cover.
Second edition after the very rare first edition of 1922.
This work is one of the four composed in collaboration by Max Ernst and Paul Éluard, but it is certainly the most amazing. It is composed of 21 black reproductions of collages made by Max Ernst, opposite which, except for the one on the frontispiece, is the poem written by the artist and the writer to "reveal" the image without describing it.

ONE OF 50 COPIES ON PUR FIL DU MARAIS, second paper after 10 copies on Madagascar.

Spine and edges of boards browned, small tear at bottom of spine.
