[MANUSCRIT] SABLIER, Abrégé de l'histoire des juifs de Basnage et autres, suivi par une seconde section intitulée : Livres sacrez des juifs modernes et autres matières qui les concernent. [France, c. 1780], original manuscript, folio (265 x 195mm), ff. [1], 59 (with an additional leaf pasted to p. 49); 47, [1 blank]. Manuscript in two parts, written in French, in ink, each part in a different hand, but with some notes and additions by the second hand (the author's) also found in part 1 (this same hand also added a table of contents to both parts at the end), text a little browned, binding worn, first cover detached. Interesting summary of Jewish history from ancient times, divided by country. The second part is a rather detailed discussion of Jewish writings and writers from the Mischna, Talmud, etc. to the great Jewish scholars of the Middle Ages and early modern period. A note by C. Annibal Detouche, dated 1830, on the flyleaf indicates that this work is a partially autograph manuscript by a certain Sablier, who was never published. This may have been Charles Sablier (1693-1786), a playwright and writer, whose Essai sur les langues was published in 1777. Key words: judaica, jew, jewish, hebrew, rabbis, jewish, torah, hebrew, hebraica, judaism, synagogue, zionism, pessah, pessach, haggada, haggadah, hagada, hagadah, passover, menorah, menorah, hannuka, hannuca, hannucca, hanouccah, torah, juden, israelite, Israel, antisemitism, antisemitism, dreyfus, meguila, sepharad, ketuba
