Two small talismanic boxes, Iran, 18th-19th centurySteel boxes of octagonal format opening with a hinged lid and flanked by two attachment rings. The first with champlevé decoration of a star medallion decorated with a cursive inscription "ya qadi al-hajat" [one of the attributes of Allah, "he who satisfies the needs"] and circled with small brass nails, the second with gold damascene decoration of a fleuron and a border decorated with religious and Qur'anic formulae, in the centre: Qur'an, Sura LXI al-Saff, verse 13 and on the rim: Sura LXVIII al-Qalam, verses 51-52. 4.2 and 4 cm in diameter .
