String quartet, taken from the music of the ballet La Danse du temps for string quartet, percussion, chorus and tape (choreography by Régine Chopinot, premiered in La Rochelle in 1999), and premiered on July 13, 1999 in Montpellier by the Quatuor Rosamunde. Duration 17 min 30; 250 bars (plus some repeated sequences). We note the intervention, in bars 20-24, of an ad libitum choir with closed mouth. The manuscript is very carefully written down in black ink on paper with 18 or 24 staves, with collettes and corrections by tipex.
