String quartet premiered on February 7, 1998 at Radio-France, for the festival Présences, by the Ensemble intercontemporain quartet: Jeanne-Marie Conquer and Hae-Sun Kang (violins), Christophe Desjardins (viola), Jean-Guilhem Queyras (cello). It lasts 17 minutes 30, and begins Énergique. The manuscript is carefully written in Indian ink on tracing paper with generally 4 systems of 4 staves per page; it is dated " Asnières 6-II/VI 1997 ". It was used for the clichage, with printed collages for the title and dedication to Francesco Guerrero.
