Aubergine morocco, spine ribbed and extended with cold fillets on the boards, framed in the same morocco inside, decorated with gilt fillets and motifs, dark green moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (Yseux sr. de Thierry-Simier) Edition printed at 130 copies, illustrated with 67 original etchings by DUNOYER DE SEGONZAC, of which 10 full-page and 1 double-page. It was printed on the Daragnès press. To illustrate this book, the artist made very few preparatory studies, in pen or wash, preferring to engrave directly on copper. He thus conceived 165 plates but only 67 were retained, making this book one of his masterpieces. Edition at 130 numbered copies on Arches vellum (n° 45). A very fine copy in a sober and elegant binding by Yseux. Some transfers of the engravings on the facing leaves.
