First edition of this collection of Maupassant's short stories, illustrated on the frontispiece with a portrait of the author engraved in etching by Just, one of the few that the writer had authorized for publication. UNIQUE ISSUE, ENRICHED WITH 7 BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL AQUARELLES SIGNED FJ.V., located at the head of each story. A very good copy. Spine slightly faded, cracks at the hinges.
