Rasped calf, smooth spine decorated with a gilt motif, untrimmed, cover preserved, slipcase (contemporary binding). Deluxe edition of these two works first published in 1894. Each title is illustrated with 10 watercolours, by Georges ROCHEGROSSE (1859-1938) in the first one and by Paul GERVAIS (1859-1944) in the second one, printed in intaglio and coloured with a doll. Edition at 140 copies. Each work is here one of 125 on fine white vellum, bound in seeded calf and including the black print on chine of the breakdown of all the plates. There is also the publication prospectus bound at the end of the two volumes. A well preserved copy in spite of a few partly unbound leaves.
