Green morocco, double cold fillet and special gilt plate in the centre of the boards, smooth spine decorated with a special gilt plate, gilt edges (publisher's binding). First edition of the 25 vignettes, including 5 full-page ones serving as false titles to the five books of fables, and of the 80 plates, including the frontispiece, wood-engraved after Grandville. A copy in the publisher's green morocco, with special irons on the boards and the spine directly inspired by Grandville's illustration, in a very rare condition. Spine faded, some rubbing from use. Scattered foxing.
