Sought-after edition, including a long preface by Gérard de Nerval in the first edition. It is illustrated with 6 woodcut plates copying the illustrations made by Marillier for the original edition of 1772, and with nearly 200 compositions by Édouard de Beaumont in the first edition, including a steel-engraved portrait of the author in the frontispiece and numerous woodcut vignettes in the text.
