- Partly first edition of the first 4 volumes, the first to bear the title Œuvres complètes.
"This edition is more complete than all those which preceded or followed it. Béranger regarded it as definitive; it was indeed so, since those of 1835, 1836, etc., and even that of 1847, if we except from the latter the 10 new songs, are only reprints of that of 1834, less the supplement.» (Brivois, Bibliographie de l'œuvre de P.-
The illustration includes 104 out-of-text compositions, including a captioned portrait-frontispiece representing Béranger in front of his prison window, engraved after a composition by Ary Scheffer (volume 1), and 103 captioned hors-texts engraved in intaglio after compositions by Achille Devéria, Tony and Alfred Johannot, Charlet, Grenier, Théophile Fragonard, Isabey, Henri Monnier, Horace Vernet, etc. There is also a full-page portrait of Béranger, woodcut from a composition by Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (volume 4) and a facsimile of an autograph letter from Béranger with its transcription.
One hundred of these compositions are from a new edition of the suite published from 1828 to 1833; three are unpublished.
Copy on wove paper, with almost all the engravings in double state on chine glue, before and with the letter. The first portrait is in 3 states, on vellum with the letter, on chine glued before the letter and on chine glued with the letter. Only the plates of the Gauls and Franks, of the Son of the Pope and of the Infinitely Small, which are the 3 new engravings, are in a single state on chine glue. The figures entitled Le Bedeau, Le Dieu des bonnes gens and Les missionnaires are in 3 states on chine, one of which bears a different legend, namely Dame Jeanne, Un conquérant and Une mission. The vignette of the song Le Bon dieu is entitled Il met le nez à la fenêtre. Several of the plates are in 3 or 4 states, including the pure etching.

The fourth volume ends with the two rare supplements respectively entitled Dix chansons de P.J. de Béranger, complément des éditions publiées avant 1847 (Perrotin 1857), and Chansons de Béranger, supplément, proposant les chansons érotiques (Marchands de nouveautés, 1866). Both supplements are printed on wove paper. The copy of the Dix chansons ends with 4 pages of catalogue.

- Posthumous first edition of the Dernières chansons published by Perrotin in 1857, forming the fifth volume of the series.
- My biography, published in 1860, which forms the next volume, is here in its third edition, larger than the previous ones of 1857 and 1859. The text has been enlarged with numerous notes by the editor and the appendix has been recast.
This edition is illustrated with a full-length portrait drawn by Charlet, a photograph after the marble by M. Geoffroy-Dechaume and 8 engraved plates after Daubigny, Sandoz and Wattier.
The portrait is in two states, including the artist's proof on chine glued before the letter, with the names engraved in point, and the plates are in 3 or 4 states.

- Ninth edition of the Musiques des chansons de Béranger which closes the set. Copy with the 1865 Perrotin catalogue bound in at the end.
