A rare proof on strong laid paper, of the 1st state (of 6), with the name engraved but before much work, including the drawbridge, chain and two beams in the lower left corner of the subject, washed and skillfully restored. Small persistent greyish stains at foot on verso and left edge in centre. Thin strips of gummed paper at side edges of folio on verso. Narrow margins [422 x 562].
