Camille Pissarro (1830-1903
)Peasant women at grass. About 1894. Etching. 160 x 120. Delteil-Cailac 111, printed in colours. Very nice and fresh proof on thin laid paper from an old register (with lines of Latin and Greek text in sepia ink on the reverse), without the small tree at the bottom left, annotated "N° 7 ép. d'art-" then titled and signed in pencil. Fine friselis on the print. All margins. Rare. Edition of about 13 proofs.
Cailac did not manage to identify the successive states of this engraving, which seems to have been mostly subject to variant printings, in search of different impressionist effects.
