A very fine proof on thin laid paper from an old register (with a short text in Hebrew in pen at the head on the reverse - translation: "Blessing of the Head of State"), of the 2nd state (of 10), before the new sizes, notably in the gable of the house at the bottom left and in the sky, annotated in pencil "2nd state n° 1 Quai des Ménétriers à Bruges" then signed and annotated "(C)" at the lower right. Minor soiling (normal). All margins. Very rare. Final edition of about ten proofs during the artist's lifetime (before the posthumous edition of 19 proofs).
