Very nice and fresh proof on thin cream laid paper, of the 1st state (of 3), before the rose stone, annotated at the bottom left in pencil "2nd try" then at the right "try proof" and signed. Light trace of oxidation at the opening of an old mount. Minor light foxing and handling creases to the edges of the sheet. More marked oxidation around the edges on the reverse. Mounting tabs superimposed on the left edge on the verso. Good margins [376 x 466].
