"The album Apocalypse de saint Jean de Redon differs from those of the Nabis in that it refuses the color advocated by Vollard. In it, the master of black takes up the theme of the journey of the spirit, dear to symbolism, as the saint's revelations unfold. From print to print, the amateur is invited to join this mystical adventure, in the intimacy of his study. He is guided by the captions of the lithographs which quote the last book of the New Testament and introduce in the Vollard editions a new relationship to the text. " (Clara Roca, cartel for the exhibition "Limited Edition, Vollard, Petiet and the Master Print", exhibition at the Petit Palais, Paris, 19 May-29 August 2021).
