RIZZI-ZANNONI (Giovanni Antonio).
Geographical Atlas containing the Mappemonde and the four Parts, With the different States of Europe.
Paris : Lattré, 1762. - In-16, 124 x 84: frontispiece, title, 54 maps. Red morocco, triple gilt fillet and gilt fleuron on the corners of the boards, smooth spine decorated, gilt border inside, gilt edges (period binding).

Pocket atlas composed of a frontispiece, an engraved title, and 54 double-page maps, all entirely coloured at the time.

This edition usually includes 30 maps, including an armillary sphere and 29 maps numbered from 1 to 27 plus a map 10bis and a map 24bis. In this copy, plates 11 to 15 concerning France, have been replaced by 28 maps of France and its regions, making the collection more complete than the original edition. All maps are from the same publisher and do not differ from each other; they were drawn up "under the eyes" of the Italian geographer and cartographer Giovanni Antonio Rizzi-Zannoni (1736-1814).
A very fine copy in contemporary morocco. Due to its rearrangement, it does not contain any table or text. On the front of each map is the identification of the place represented, handwritten at the time.

Small cracks at the hinges.
Provenance: Fourqueux library, with bookplate.
