Second Empire period rifle armour. Including a breastplate and a mismatched backrest. Iron breastplate covered with brass, with an iron radiating motif and gilded brass eagle glory (not fixed). Dated April 1831. A.B.E. Backrest . In black patinated iron, covered with brass. Leather-lined shoulder straps with brass clasps. Dated May 1831. E.M.
