SINÉ - PAUVERT (Jean-Jacques). The Enraged One. Paris: Jean-Jacques Pauvert, 24 May-November 1968. - 12 fascicules bound in one volume in-4, 309 x 226. Eggplant half calf with corners, smooth spine, untrimmed (modern binding). Complete collection in first print run of this ephemeral satirical journal published in 12 issues between 24 May and November 1968, created by the writer and publisher Jean-Jacques Pauvert and the cartoonist Siné . Published at the time of the events of May 68, it covers the different episodes. The editors set the tone of the newspaper in the first issue: "CE JOURNAL EST UN PAVÉ. It can be used as a fuse for a Molotov cocktail. It can be used as a baton cover. It can be used as an anti-gas handkerchief. We stand in solidarity, and we will remain so, with all the rabid people of the world. We are not students, workers or peasants, but we want to bring our paving stone to all their barricades. If any of you have difficulties or scruples in expressing yourselves in the traditional newspapers, come and say it here: this is your home! In this newspaper nothing is forbidden, except to be right-wing". Each issue is made up of committed and partisan texts, but above all of biting caricatures by the greatest cartoonists of the time such as Siné, Wolinski, Reiser, Cabu, Gébé or Topor. His title L'Enragé was the anagram of "General". Number 5 is written in German. The copy does contain the booklet of 4 leaves of a smaller format, which gives the translation. Cabu will say that "it is thanks to May 68 and L'Enragé that Cavanna decided to launch Hara Kiri weekly". Two reproductions of this newspaper were published in 1988 and 2018, with a beautiful bound copy, enriched on the third white guard with a beautiful original caricature in colour, dedicated by Siné to Yves Teste . It also includes an amusing L.A.S. by Siné addressed to the same man. Slight
