THE DUCK IN THE CLOSET.
Paris, May 26, 1944-June 2, 1944. - 2 fascicules large in-folio, in sheets, folded.

Together the only two very rare issues of this humorous collaborationist newspaper, whose motto was: "Help yourself and bile will help you".

The editors of these two issues are not known, simply presented by pseudonyms (maître queue, Diogène de Paname, général Grattepoux), except for Charles Cluny who signed 2 poems. They were collaborating journalists whose sole purpose was to entertain. It was an authorized newspaper, sold in Parisian newsstands, with no real political line, which had no connection with Le Canard enchaîné. The address of the publication was 55 avenue Georges V, the former address of the newspaper, which was also a collaborationist newspaper, Pilori, and it was printed by the "Paris-soir" printing house, a newspaper that was banned after the liberation.

Both issues are illustrated with cartoons, some anonymous or under pseudonym, others signed by Lep, pseudonym of Raymond Leprêtre, Julhès (1896-1985) or Roland Forgues.

Very well preserved copies, folded, despite inevitable tears in the central fold.
