AXA (Zo d'). La Feuille. Paris, October 6, 1897- March 28, 1899. - 25 issues in-folio, 450 x 315. Violet half calf, top of the first cover decorated with a gold and light blue motif representing a salesman whose newspapers fly away, smooth spine, slipcase (modern binding). Rare complete collection of this newspaper edited by the journalist, writer and pamphleteer Zo d'Axa, whose real name was Alphonse Gallaud de la Pérouse (1864-1930). This libertarian and anti-militarist author had a very eventful life, juggling between prosecution, imprisonment and travel. Author of several books, he published two satirical reviews, L'En-dehors, which appeared from 1891 to 1893, and La Feuille, the first issue of which came out on 6 October 1897 in the midst of the turmoil of the Dreyfus affair. In the first sheet, Zo d'Axa explains what he intends to do: "No promises, no deception. We will cause miscellaneous facts, we will show latent causes, we will indicate whys. And we'll spill the beans and we'll name the tricksters, politicians and bagmen, people of letters - all the jean-fichtre. We'll say very simple things and we'll just say them. This newspaper was published 25 issues until March 1899. Each issue consisted of a simple sheet on the front of which was a drawing by Steinlen, Maximilien Luce, Willette, Léandre, Hermann Paul, Couturier or Anquetin, and on the front the articles by Zo d'Axa in which he made fun of institutions, the army, the magistracy or the overly docile worker. Only number 12 has two pages, devoted to the donkey, "son of the country of La Fontaine and Rabelais [...] answering to the name of Null", candidate of La Feuille for the legislative elections of May 1898, who collected the blank or invalid ballots while wandering the streets of Paris. This issue was printed only on the inside pages for display. Perfectly preserved copy despite a tear repaired in the last issue and the back past. We enclose a cop
