René CHAR (1907-1988). Autograph manuscript signed, La Provence point oméga, 1965; 31 pages oblong in-8 in sheets. A copy of the first edition of La Provence Point Oméga [Paris, Imprimerie Union, 1965] is enclosed, with a signed autograph to Louis Barnier, director of Imprimerie Union: "To Monsieur Barnier whose friendship is dear to me. R.C. Tirage à part, 2 / 60"; and a German press article on La Provence Point Oméga sent to Barnier by Char with an a.s. envelope. From the Louis Barnier Library (Artcurial, 8 November 2005 , no. 30). Complete manuscript of this poem-pamphlet, a true ecological and pacifist manifesto . Char strongly denounces the project to install a nuclear rocket launching base on the Albion plateau in the commune of Apt, and strongly attacks Georges Santoni, pharmacist and mayor of the town. Very committed, Char does not hesitate to mobilize and organize demonstrations against this project. Thus, it is at his own expense that he publishes two thousand copies of this small brochure which fiercely denounces this nuclear installation which would be a real ecological disaster, poisoning and slowly killing the entire region: "Aptésiens, You have a mayor with a thermonuclear head. He risks nothing. But you?. Who doesn't care about the risk of drying up the Fountain of Vaucluse or infecting its waters with poison? Aptésiens, don't bother digging your shelter under Santoni's pharmacy. Santoni's Insurance, Life Insurance. Quickly, clairvoyant Aptésiens, Santoni is in disarray, before he puts you in the tomb! Truffles from the Ventoux, vines from everywhere, wild mushrooms, today's apples, fresh produce, peaches from Provence, wounded to death would be the soil that produces you... Players of Cézanne, the cards that the painter put in your hand were not rigged. The game now requires that they be. Push them back. ... Everything dies in the end, except the conscience that bears witness to Life ..." <
