Giovanni PAISIELLO (1740-1816). L.A.S., January 20 [1803], to the poet and librettist Giovanni Battista Casti, in Paris; half page in-4, address; in Italian. This morning he had the first two acts of his opera Proserpine rehearsed by the Marquis de Gallo [ambassador of the King of Naples and the Two Sicilies]. If Casti is out, and would enjoy hearing it, have it ready at half past eleven, and Paisiello will pick it up... [Proserpine will premiere at the Paris Opera on March 28, 1803.]
