Edition printed at 210 copies on paper by Auvergne Richard de Bas, illustrated with 23 original full-page etchings by Georges ROUAULT (1871-1958). It was at the request of Ambroise Vollard that Rouault composed a series of illustrations for the book. He produced large etchings which first appeared in 1932 in an impressive folio edition. At the same time, he designed small engravings for a small version of the Reincarnations that the artist wished to see published one day, which the Société Normande des Amis de Livre, then presided over by Maxime Denesle, did with this 1955 edition. Each engraving is signed and dated 1929 in copper. One of the 100 copies numbered in Roman numerals, this one one of the 80 numbered from XXI to C. Perfectly preserved in spite of the lightly browned cover .
